Sennovia

First thing you need to know – these stories are not Romance Fantasy! Yet . . . they cover every trope you can imagine from:

  • Coming of Age
  • Lost family
  • Hidden Identity
  • Forbidden Love
  • Morally Grey Characters
  • Opinionated Dragons that can Shape Shift
  • Sex Magic
  • Kidnapped Princess
  • Evil Older Dark Lord in leather and satin
  • Strong Female Warriors
  • Sexy Men in Tight Black Leather
  • Brotherhood of Mages
  • Dysfunctional Family
  • Mind Stone Magic
  • Dangerous Choices and Deadly Consequences
  • World Building
  • Elves, Dwarfs, Monsters, Ghouls
  • And so much more!

The stories are all plot driven with morally grey characters, both male and female. Strong personalities with real fears and regrets. There is no graphic sex or bad language, but they do touch on mixed relationships of MF, MM and MFM. The stories are all set in an ancient world that has survived many wars and conflicts, including the last Great War. That war plunged the Four Lands into an uneasy peace when it ended with the destruction of Mitthsombaine, an evil city that was also the center of all known magic.

Only not everything stays dead. Or even buried.

The Author

I've been writing fantasy and science fiction stories since I was in grade 5 primary school. I have so many hand written stories just waiting to be shown the light of day. I love world building and diverse characters and impossible situations.

I've written many short stories as well. From there I graduated into fan fiction for a short while before returning to my own playground.

Sennovia was created over twenty years ago, and I have built, drawn, invented, sketched and traced bloodlines of all the characters back 4000 years in this universe. I made detailed notes on wars, cultures, earthquakes, volcanos and ancient cities before even writing the first book.

From Book Three: The Unnamed Tomb of Mitthsombaine

"Is it possible for Wyran to raise the Magus?"

The question came out of nowhere and Kellen roused himself, not expecting this topic. But he should have. He took a breath and debated not answering Dalzere as he focused again on the dying fire before them. "Yes."

"Can it be done with the blood of any ancient, or just with Sasheer's blood?"

Kellen's eyebrows climbed and he wondered how much Dalzere suspected. "With Sasheer's blood only," he said, soft, scared that the verbalization of such a thing would invite the possibility.

Dalzere released a deep breath and nodded as if coming to a decision. "Necromancy."

Kellen's brows went up a second time in surprise. Yes . . . an old word, but one that filtered down to him through his shared memories with Serinee. That was what the Coastal Mage Society had practiced. That was why Lichien chose to kill its victims before taking them over. "Yes."

"Four thousand years ago, Sasheer died in that Tower, didn't he?" Dalzere asked very quietly. "The Magus killed him, or tried to kill him, and Serinee somehow interrupted the process. I don't know what happened . . . Sasheer would never speak of it, but I experienced his nightmares." Dalzere stopped, and exhaled, tilting his face up to study the night sky. His next words were barely whispered. "Serinee struck a deal with the Magus . . . for a price." He waited then turned to look at Kellen. "Didn't he?"

Essentially . . . only Kellen did not want to say that. Knowledge like this was dangerous, and could destroy them all.

"He's in grave danger, isn't he?"

"Yes," Kellen said, meeting Dalzere's searching gaze, seeing his pain, his grief, love and his determination. Dalzere was still dressed in his hunting leathers stained with old blood, and Kellen dropped his head to one side, watching as a gentle breeze played through the Drow's long, dark hair.

"What can we do?"

"If we can kill the Magus, then nothing will change. Sasheer will continue as he always has."

"But . . ." Dalzere said, his brows drawing down as realization hit him. "If the Magus survives and Sasheer is killed, or dies, then––"

Kellen shivered, those words foreshadowing fate. "Then he will become the Magus' First Councilor. Something even worse and more dangerous than every facet of Lichien combined."

Dalzere clamped his jaw, his expression suddenly fierce. "I will not allow that," he hissed. Then he turned on his toes and was gone, swallowed up by the darkness.

Kellen glanced behind, frowning, uncertain what he could, or should, do. He now understood why Serinee had gone mad. The trainee Mage had used all of his inner energies to correct the polluted magics unleashed by the Magus, and that had destroyed his mind. Yet, it had been a risk Serinee had willingly taken––for the love of his brother. For Sasheer.

Kellen turned back to the fire and rubbed the bridge of his nose. Turning away from the fire he stepped into the darkness, needing to find Dalzere. "This will get them both killed," he muttered, knowing that Dalzere loved the Mage.
